On June 30, 2014, the opening ceremony of Ramadan Tent will take place near the Memorial Mosque on Poklonnaya Hill (Moscow City, Minskaya st., 2B). Guests of the event will have a chance to get acquainted with centuries-old culture of Islam.
The event is organized by Russia Muftis Council and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Moscow with the official support of Moscow City government.
Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, representatives of Moscow government and heads of Russia's traditional religions will speak at the opening ceremony. Ramadan-themed songs and presentation of a video clip about Muslim fast are also planned. Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin will speak at the press conference before the start of the event.
The long list of the guests of Ramadan Tent includes members of the Council of Federation and Russian State Duma, ambassadors of Muslim states, plenipotentiary representatives of Russia's national republics, scholars and celebrities, politicians, teachers, doctors, sportspeople and others. In previous years, Ramadan Tent was visited by presidents of Tatarstan (Rustam Minnikhanov), Ingushetia (Yunus-bek Yevkurov) and others.
Ramadan Tent is a unique charitable, cultural and educational project. Doors of the Tent will be open for everyone from July 1 to 27. All comers will have a chance to taste delicious national cuisines and witness a unique cultural programme. Every day in the Tent will be special: it will host 15 evenings devoted to Russia's national republics, three children's parties, an elimination round of Qur'an reciting competition, Day of Youth, Culture and Sport and many others. It is estimated that more than 15 thousand people will visit Ramadan Tent this year.
