Dear participants and guests!

I greet you in Moscow and I wish your representative conference fruitful work.

You have to discuss a wide range of issues that concern Muslims of Russia and the world. Among them: the problem of development of spiritual formation and preservation of centuries-old heritage of Islam, the cooperation of Muslim communities in combat xenophobia, nationalism and other threats.

In modern Russia, where there are millions of Muslims, much is done for the opening of new mosques and madrasas, for the reconstruction of monuments of Islamic culture. We appreciate the contribution of Muslim organizations in the strengthening of mutual understanding between different faiths, to the stability and interethnic harmony in our society.

Our country is developing very close and multifaceted relations with Islamic countries. As an observer, actively cooperates with the Organization of Islamic Conference. And in expanding such contacts, in the implementation of international humanitarian projects Muslim religious and social associations play very important role.
