On October 16, the 23rd Moscow International Quran Recitation Competition will commence in the conference hall of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. The event is organized by the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM) in partnership with the Muhammad bin Zayed University for Humanities (UAE).

The prestigious international gathering will bring together the most skilled Quran reciters from 30 countries. The competition will be held in the "Tilawa" category - the art of reciting the Holy Quran with proficiency and beauty.

Russia will be represented at the 23rd Moscow International Quran Recitation Competition by Hafiz Yasir Dodarbekov, who recently won the All-Russian qualifying round.

Yasir is 24 years old. He studied the recitation of the Muslim Holy Scripture in Egypt from ages 9 to 11. He has repeatedly participated and won prizes in both Russian and international Quran recitation competitions, including representing our country at the BRICS Quran Recitation Award in Kazan last year. Currently, Yasir Dodarbekov serves as an imam at the Cathedral Mosque of Saratov, teaches Quran recitation at the Saratov madrasah "Shaykh Said," and is pursuing a degree in dentistry as a fourth-year student at a medical university, while already holding a secondary professional medical education.

We prayerfully wish our compatriot a successful performance and victory in this noble competition!
