According to news agency “Interfax”, yesterday several unknown men attacked the household of mufti Magomed Abdullaev in the village of Kahabroso in Untsukulsky district of Dagestan.

“Last night, three unknown armed men got into the house of mufti with the purpose of killing him and opened fire, wounding his wife and son. Defending, mufti fired back from a hunting rifle, killing one of the attackers,” said the agency’s informant. According to him, the identity of the attacker has been established. It is assumed that the reason behind the failed assassination attempt against mufti was his religious activity.

The investigation department of ICR confirmed the fact of the attack. Investigation officers are inspecting the scene of the accident.
