An opening ceremony of Russia’s first combined temporary accommodation center for foreign nationals and displaced persons in Krasnoarmeysk, Saratov Oblast, took place in early June of this year.

The event brought together regional ministers, head of local DFMS, representatives of regional NGOs and imam mukhtasib Fanil hazrat Bibarsov together with head of regional SAM International Relations Department Ilyas hajji Bogatyrev.

Fanil hazrat wished all the refugees patience and asked Almighty Allah to ease their burden. Fanil hazrat and Ilyas hajji also presented children with gifts and office accessories bought on donations collected in Jum’ah mosque after Friday prayer.

In the end of the meeting, guests were toured around the quarters of the center and familiarized with the staying conditions inside the facility.

In the coming days, some 100 displaced persons who lost their homes and possessions are scheduled to arrive to the center, among them refugees from Syria.
