 The Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Centre of Oncology discussed cooperation in the sphere of medical tourism A delegation of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation headed by Mufti Rushan Abbyasov, Deputy Chairman of the RBM of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Moscow Region, visited the N.N. Blokhin Oncology Centre. N.N. Blokhin Oncology Centre, where she met with the centre's management and staff.
 
The meeting was attended by Ildar Galeyev, Deputy Chairman of the RBM of the Russian Federation, Head of the International Department, Rashid Sadykov, Advisor to the Chairman of the RBM of the Moscow Region, Guzel Mubinova, Chief of Staff of the Health Care Committee of the RBM of the Russian Federation, and Dilyara Bagautdinova, Press Service Officer of the RBM of the Russian Federation. From the side of the oncology centre the participants of the meeting were the chief freelance specialist oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, director of FGBU ‘N.N. Blokhin Oncology Centre’. N.N. Blokhin’ of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ivan Stilidi, Deputy Director for Federal Projects Implementation Tigran Gevorkyan, Head of the Neuro-oncology Department, neurosurgeon, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ali Bekyashev, Head of the Department, oncologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences Denis Ryabchikov, Head of the International Cooperation Department Elena Iozhits. 

During the meeting, Rushan Hazrat conveyed words of greetings from the Chairman of the RBM of the Russian Federation, Chief Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin and noted the key role of interaction between medical institutions and spiritual organisations. In particular, he recalled a number of initiatives implemented with the N.N. Blokhin Oncology Centre. In particular, he recalled a number of initiatives, such as the opening of a prayer room in the institution, as well as successful charity projects, including those implemented jointly with Qatar and aimed at helping young patients of the oncology centre.

For his part, Ivan Stilidi stressed the importance of opening a prayer room in the oncology centre and spoke about the wide opportunities offered by the centre, including the use of telemedicine for foreign patients and a training programme for doctors from other countries.

In continuation of the dialogue Mufti Rushan Abbyasov informed the interlocutors about the results of the International Conference ‘Partnership in the sphere of medical education and medical tourism: Russia and countries of the Muslim world’, held on January 28 in the walls of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. In this context, he noted the importance of consolidating efforts in developing Russia's export potential in the field of medical services and medical education.

In turn, Elena Iozhits said that annually about 4 thousand foreign patients receive treatment at NMIC, including those from countries with predominantly Muslim populations. She noted that medical care and counselling services are in demand in the international arena, and telemedicine is becoming an integral part of this process.

Ildar Galeyev informed about his forthcoming trip to the United Arab Emirates, during which it is planned to meet with representatives of the UAE medical community to discuss further steps in the development of international partnership.

The parties agreed to continue work on the development of medical tourism and exchange of experience, which will contribute to improving the quality of treatment and strengthening ties between Russia and Muslim countries.
 
The meeting concluded with a presentation of the oncology centre's departments aimed at treating patients from all over the world, as well as a tour of the medical facility.
