Staying in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of the delegation of the Hajj Council of the Hajj Mission of Russia, Mufti Rushan Abbyasov, Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, took part in the signing of the agreement for the Hajj season 2025.

The document was signed by the head of the delegation, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, Commissioner for Hajj Affairs under the Commission on Religious Associations under the Government of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov and the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of KSA Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabia.

On the Russian side, the signing was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Nature Management Belan Khamchiev, member of the Federation Council on Economic Policy Suleiman Geremeev, Head of the Hajj Mission of Russia Hizbula Asuev, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Jeddah Yusup Abakarov and others.

During the meeting Ilyas Umakhanov stressed that the first visit of Mr Minister to Russia in September 2024 can be rightfully called historic, which gave a creative impetus to the development of relations between the two states. He also expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the KSA and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for the systematic work aimed at improving the conditions for the pilgrimage.

In turn, Rushan Hazrat conveyed to Mr Al-Rabia a greeting on behalf of the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Chief Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, noting the existing constructive interaction between the DUM of the Russian Federation and the Ministry.
