Mufti Rushan Abbyasov took part in a visiting meeting of the Strategic Vision Group ‘Russia - Islamic World’ By order of the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, member of the Strategic Vision Group ‘Russia - Islamic World’ Chief Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, his Deputy for International Affairs Mufti Rushan Abbyasov took part in the outgoing meeting of the Group held on 11 December 2024 in the capital of Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur headed by the Chairman, Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The meeting, held under the theme ‘Interaction between Russia and the Islamic world in the era of emerging multipolarity’, brought together representatives of Russian and foreign government agencies, diplomatic corps, academia, international Islamic organisations, as well as spiritual leaders from the Middle East, North Africa, South-East Asia and Europe. Among them were Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, Andrey Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Muhammad Salah Tekay, Director General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation for Political Affairs, and others. The moderator was Deputy Chairman of the Strategic Vision Group ‘Russia - Islamic World’, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Farit Mukhametshin.

In his speech, Rushan Hazrat read out the welcome address of the Chairman of the RBM of the Russian Federation, Chief Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, and also welcomed the participants on his own behalf. He emphasised the progressive development of Russian-Malaysian relations in religious and cultural spheres, noted the significance of joint projects such as the International Exhibition ‘Traditions of Islam in Russia’, as well as the example of Malaysia as a society where moderate Islam is combined with innovation and openness.

The RBM deputy chairman said Malaysia's experience has inspired Russian Muslims to organise the International Quran Recitation Competition, develop the halal industry, create a national halal standard and study Islamic finance, adding that the interaction between the two countries reflects the Quranic principle of co-operation in piety and piety.

Mufti Rushan Abbyasov urged Malaysian religious institutions to strengthen co-operation with the Russian Ummah, familiarise themselves with the experience of state-confessional relations in Russia and participate in scientific, cultural and educational initiatives. He emphasised that the Russian Muslim community, living in a multinational environment, has considerable experience to share with co-religionists.
