The Tragedy of Palestine is a Litmus Test for the Muslim Community An event devoted to Naqba, forceful expulsion of Palestinians fr om their lands in 1948, took part in Moscow. The event, which was organized by the embassy of Palestine, was attended by Deputy Chairman of Russia Muftis Council Rushan hazrat Abbyasov and the head of international office of the same organization Ildar Galeev.

During the event, Rushan hazrat Abbyasov delivered a report. “65 years passed since this great tragedy cast a dark shadow upon Palestine, but despite decades passing, the heart of the Ummah is still bleeding because of this injustice, for as Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) told, we are indeed a single organism. 65 years ago, a war has started not just against Palestinian nation, but against every man for whom truth and justice are not mere words,” said Rushan hazrat.

“Nobody mentions that Palestinians live in inhuman conditions. Deprived of their rights and oppressed, they are losing their native lands, but no one can rob them of their truth, hope and courage, even if the robbers have one of the best armies of the Middle East under their belt. Of course, mass media shows us completely different picture wh ere Palestinians act as usurpers, but sooner or later justice will be served and the world will realize the true story and the whole scope of this great tragedy. Palestinian tragedy is indeed a litmus test of the Muslim community which shows us how weak and divided we are, and it is this tragedy that can finally unite us and help us find way from a centuries-old crisis.”

Other speeches and addresses were read, and a film was shown about the tragedy of Palestine.
