Islamic Fashion Comes to Moscow IV International Festival “Islamic Style” will take place on June 15, 2013, between 3 and 7 p. m. in the conference hall of the 75th pavilion of All-Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow.

One of the goals of the festival is to invite public attention to Islamic dress code. Organizers also hope to break stereotypes about Muslim women existing both among male Muslims and non-Muslims and spread right understanding of Islamic culture in relation to clothing, aid the development of costumes of traditional Muslim peoples of Russia and help build the brands of Russian fashion designers and Muslim clothing manufacturers.

“Islamic Style” Festival will hardly leave anyone indifferent. It’s aimed not only at Muslims, but also at anyone related to fashion industry and all those who have sincere interest in modest and elegant Islamic dressing style. The festival will welcome both renown and rising designers from different parts of Russia and world.

The worldwide tendency to combine ethics and fashion, Sharia norms and modern trends, to show that one can be stylish and at the same time distinguish his religion through his appearance has proven successful. The demand for distinctly Muslim image gave birth to a number of talented designers. Such recognized world fashion houses as Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana incorporate more and more Islamic models into their collections, while renown experts on fashion history claim that the world fashion industry is starting to take inspiration from Muslim countries.
