In the course of International Conference of Muslim Scholars and Islamic Awakening in Iran, Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia met with Ayatollah Ali Taskhiri, cultural advisor of the leader of Islamic Revolution.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil hazrat Gaynutdin greeted the Leader of Revolution on behalf of Russian Muslims.

In his turn, Ayatollah Ali Taskhiri said that he was happy to see the spiritual head of Russian Muslims in Iranian capital. “Your role in the upbringing of Muslim community of Russia is extremely important. I greatly treasure our friendship. On behalf of the organisers of this conference, I would like to thank you for your active participation,” said Takhiri.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of affairs of Muslims in Russian Federation. Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told the Iranian side of the events hosted by the CMR.

“We live in a multinational and multiconfessional country, and it is our duty to present Islam as a religion of enlightment and humanity,” said the head of the Council of Muftis.

In the end of the meeting, the sides have agreed to further fruitful cooperation.
