On September 20, the VIII Kurultai-Congress of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation was solemnly opened. According to tradition, ayats of the Noble Quran were recited by the famous Russian Quran hafiz Mufti Islyam Dashkin, Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Penza region.

Imam-Khatib of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque Islyam Zaripov recalled those prominent representatives of the Muslim Ummah who left this world in 2019-2024. He read out the list of deceased religious and public figures, politicians, scientists.

Spiritual leader of Russian Mufties Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin offered dua prayers to commemorate the deceased: “We are in prayers for our co-religionists. We pray to Allah to accept their righteous deeds on the path of Islam, to forgive their sins and transgressions, to ease the stay of their souls in the world of Barzakh and to reward them with the Paradise abode on the Day of Judgment”. The head of the Muslims of Russia announced the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha.  

During the five years that have passed since the VII Congress of the RBM of the Russian Federation, the Russian Ummah has bid farewell to outstanding ascetics of Islam, muftis and heads of spiritual administrations. Among them are Umar Idrisov, founder of the RBMNNR, Sheikh Ismail Berdiev, chairman of the Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus, the oldest and most authoritative Muftis Vagiz Yarullin and Adelsha Yunkin, Abdurakhman Haji Martazanov, chief Mufti of Ingushetia, Kholid Rasulov, chairman of the RBM of the Orel region, Qadi Ibragim Katchiev, and Mudarris Ildar Hazrat Malakhov. The supreme Muftis of brotherly states - Mufti of Kazakhstan Absattar azhy Derbisali, Mufti of Uzbekistan Usmankhon-khazrat Alimov, the first Mufti of Kyrgyzstan Kimsanbai kazhi Abdurakhmanov, Mufti of Kyrgyzstan Chubak azhy Jalilov left this world. The life path of imams and chairmen of regional Muslim communities - Amir Yusipov, Ramil Yusupov, Vyalit Ilyasov, Khalil Mukhlisov, Ibrahim Isyanyayev, Mavletdin Abushakhmanov - has come to an end, Shavkat Khakimov, Hasyan Fehretdinov, Rashit Abdeyev, Abdulakhat Samiev, Rais Khanefeev, Aksakals of the Russian Ummah Hakim Ismail uly Bikteyev, Rais Glum uly Nurimanov, Akhnaf Israfil uly Zakirov.

Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the largest Ulema of our time, passed away.

Russians bid farewell to major state and public figures from among the representatives of the national Muslim Ummah. Among them are Ruslan Khasbulatov, Murtaza Rakhimov, Magomedali Magomedov, Aman Tuleyev, Fandas Safiullin, Aslambek Aslakhanov, Shamil Sultanov, Almira Adiatullina, Professor Jamil Zainullin, Professor Kenesbai Musaev.
