Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, the religious leader of Muslims of Russia, Head of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Russia Muftis Council, who is in Crimea on a private visit, visited the Cathedral Mosque of Crimea, where he met with the Mufti of Crimea and Sevastopol Emirali Ablaev. The head of the Muslims of Russia was also met by representatives of the clergy and the government of the republic.
Mufti Haji Emirali Ablaev spoke about the stages of construction of the Cathedral Mosque, calling the completion of construction "an important historical event for the entire Crimean Tatar people". Haji Emirali Ablaev presented the model of the Cathedral Mosque to the Mufti of Russia.
"This mosque is our heritage. We have been waiting for this event for a long time, and by the will of the Almighty we received such a majestic and beautiful mosque. Now it will stand for many years and please not only us, but also our children and grandchildren. We thank everyone who supported us in this and, of course, without the help of Russian President Vladimir Putin, we would have dreamed about it for a long time", - said Haji Emirali Ablaev.
Spiritual leader of the Muslims of Russia Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin congratulated the Muslims of Crimea on the completion of the construction of the mosque, which has been ongoing since 2014, since the return of the peninsula to the Russian Federation, emphasizing that the Cathedral Mosque of Crimea is a symbol not only of Simferopol, but of the entire peninsula and the completion of construction is a landmark event for all Muslims.
"A beautiful mosque has been built here in Simferopol, which is a decoration not only of the city, but of the whole Crimea. It symbolizes our multinational and multi-religious state, where our peoples who profess different religions live in peace, friendship and brotherhood," Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin said and presented Mufti Haji Emirali Ablaev with gifts, including a commemorative clock depicting the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
