Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of the Religios Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Council of Muftis of Russia, met with a delegation of the State Council of the Sultanate of Oman headed by Chairman Sheikh Abdulmalik Al-Khalili. The visit of the high delegation to Russia is taking place within the framework of Russian-Omani inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Muftis Damir Mukhetdinov, Rushan Abbyasov, Ildar Nurimanov and Ildar Galeev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Russia Hamoud bin Salim Abdullah Al Tuwayh.

In the prologue of the conversation Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin conveyed on behalf of the 25 million Ummah of Russia the words of greetings to the leadership and all the brotherly people of the Sultanate of Oman, noting the high level of Russian-Omani relations, the dynamics of which development is ensured by personal contacts of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the top leadership of Oman.

The head of the RBM of the Russian Federation and the CMR emphasized that in addition to active relations and cooperation in inter-parliamentary ties, trade, investment, tourism, energy, there is active cooperation in religious and spiritual spheres.

"I am very proud to have close contacts and good relations with the Mufti of Oman, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Khalili. It is also important to note the partnership and fruitful cooperation established between the Russian RBM and the Ministry of Waqf and Religious Affairs of Oman. Interaction is expressed in the exchange of delegations, participation of the Omani side in the Moscow International Quran Recitation Contest, mutual participation in significant international events of the parties" - said the spiritual leader.

In continuation of the conversation, the Mufti told the guests about the history of Islam in Russia and the modernity of Russian Muslims, emphasizing the centuries-old good neighborliness of the peoples of our country. The head of the RBM of the Russian Federation and the CMR emphasized the efforts of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in strengthening and developing inter-ethnic and inter-religious peace and harmony in the Russian society, noting that the President treats all traditional religions of our country with equal respect, and the legislation of the Russian Federation protects the rights, freedoms and feelings of believing people.

For his part, Sheikh Abdulmalik Al-Khalili, Chairman of the State Council of the Sultanate of Oman, thanked the Mufti for the warm welcome and informative conversation, noted the high level of state-confessional relations existing in Russia and the unprecedented role of President Vladimir Putin in protecting the Holy Scriptures and preserving spiritual and moral foundations, which, according to him, is highly appreciated in the Islamic world.

Then there was a tour of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, during which Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin introduced the distinguished guests to the architecture and interior decoration of the main Muslim temple of the country, and also spoke about the history of the mosque, the reconstruction period and the grand opening of the renovated complex in 2015 with the participation of the heads of Russia, Turkey and Palestine. and the Sultanate of Oman.
