Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Russia Muftis Council Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin took part in the iftar organised by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Russian Federation Mr Tanju Bilgic. The event was attended by deputy muftis Rushan Abbyasov, Damir Mukhetdinov, Rafik Fattakhetdinov and Ildar Nurimanov, Renat Islyamov, Chief of Protocol of the Chairman of the RBM of the Russian Federation Dinar Gaynetdinov, staff of the Turkish Embassy, ambassadors and diplomats of Muslim countries.
During the meeting, the religious leader of Russian Muslims congratulated those present on the month of Ramadan and prayed for Allah's grace and mercy. Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin also awarded Omer Faruk Saruvan, Counsellor for Religious Affairs of the Turkish Embassy in the Russian Federation, with the highest award of Russian Muslims, the Order of Honour "Al-Fahr", noting Omer Bey's contribution to establishing cooperation between the Muslim communities of the two countries, developing religious diplomacy and assisting in the implementation of joint projects.
The participants emphasised the role of the leaders of the two states Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan in expanding and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation. They also mentioned the deep historical connection between Russia and Turkey and discussed current challenges.
