Office of Education abroad of the Department for Foreign Affairs of the Council of Muftis of Russia organized a group of imams from Russia to undergo short courses in Islamic sciences in Iran.

The course took place in the scientific and educational center at the International University of Al-Mustapha in the city of Qom. For two weeks, representatives of regional Religious bords of Muslims, members of the Council of Muftis of Russia, upgraded knowledge on fundamental Islamic sciences such as Islamic morality, Tafsir, Tajwid. The training also included the study of the Persian language.

In the period of stay for Russian group Al-Mustafa university organized tours around Iran. In particular, the group visited the country's capital, Tehran, the city of Gorgan, in which the sunni branch of Al-Mustafa university is situated, and Mashhad town. The latter is known as the religious center of Iran. Russian guests also familiarized with the process of education at the University, which starts for all foreign students equally, namely the study of the Persian language, and continues up to the doctorate.

According to the members of the Russian group, the trip was useful and informative. During the closing ceremony of these courses, the parties noted that such visits are designed primarily to contribute to bringing a unified Muslim Ummah, regardless of affiliation to a madhhab.

During his visit to the residence of the headship of the International University of Al-Mustafa Ildar Galeev, head of International Relations office of DFA of RMC met with the Deputy Director of the Research Institute for the courses and research papers, the head of the International Department, the person responsible for foreign students. At the meeting Ildar Galeev told the audience about the activities and events held by RMC. Also, it was proposed to organize a special training courses for imams, as well as courses for students of Islamic schools.

The representatives of the Islamic University, commended the construction, expressed a desire to participate in these events, and expressed their readiness to continue cooperation on the organization of training courses for the public. After the meeting the parties noted the importance of the interaction of Muslims in Russia and Iran.
