In the residence of Russian Muftis Council the RMC Chairman Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Mahmoud Eldiba at the request of the Egyptian side.

The meeting was attended by the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Mohamed Maamoun, Mr. Rushan Abbyasov, Deputy Mufti, head of the RMC Administration, Mr. Ildar Galeev, specialist in charge of the Arab countries in the International Relations department of RMC.

The honored guest listened with interest about the history of Islam in Russia and the situation of the sacred religion in modern Russia, a change of attitude towards religion and religious enlightenment in two decades of democratic changes in our country.

Lively interest was shown to the activities of RMC, the annual exhibition Moscow Halal Expo, many years of experience of the organization of the International Quran Competition in Moscow (to mention, the Egypt representative took the fifth place out of the total number of participants in the Moscow International Quran Reciting competition.), educational programs, Mawlid Nabawi, festivals of Nasheeds and other programs.

Egyptian side had accepted the offer to participate in such events, provide qualified members of the jury to the competitions, sending Egyptian artists tp Nasheed festival etc.

During the meeting the parties discussed the possibility of cooperation from the Egyptian Embassy in the expansion of contacts, including the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Awqaf of Egypt and RMC.
