Rushan Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, visited the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Russian Federation, where he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Abdulrahman Al-Ahmed.
Rushan Abbyasov conveyed greetings on behalf of the religious leader of the Russian Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, and thanked him for his support for the creative projects of the RBMRF and the RMC. When discussing plans related to cooperation, the parties spoke about organisational issues of forthcoming joint events, including a charity event taking place in order to distribute dates during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Rushan Abbyasov also presented to Mr Abdulrahman Al-Ahmed the book "100 wonderful facts about the Quran in Russia", published by the publishing house "Chitai" last November as part of the 21st Moscow International Quran Recitation Competition. The first deputy chairman of the RMC emphasised that both reciters from Saudi Arabia and imams participated in the competition. At the end of the meeting, the parties thanked each other for the productive and informative dialogue and expressed confidence in further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the peoples of Russia and Saudi Arabia.
