The meeting between the director of economic department Russia muftis Council Madina Kalimullina and world famous Sharia expert Abdulrahman bin Saleh al-Atram took place in the residence of Russia muftis Council.

Representatives of the International Center for Standardization and Certification Halal of Russia mufties Council Yusuf Rikov and Alimjan Galeyev and a colleague from the international department of RMC Ildar Galeyev also took part in this meeting. Within a meeting the questions of Islamic finance development, both in Russia and in the countries of the Arab world were discussed.

Responding to questions of the guests, Madina Kalimullina told that today Russia mufties Council develops active involvement in several directions at once. In particular, she spoke on activities of economic department at RMC in detail. The director of the department reminded that in 2009 representatives of Russia mufties Council took part in a conference on sharia standards in Bahrain where they met with Dr. Nedal Alchaar, AAOIFI secretary general who gave approval for translation of sharia standards of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions into the Russian language. Madina Kalimullina added that the department gives open lectures and discussions where the question of implementation of sharia contracts within the Russian legislation is brought up. She hoped that soon through the fruitful work betweeb the Russian legislature, the financial organizations and RMC the Russian citizens will have a possibility to carry out all active operations of Islamic financing. The director of economic department said that now the organizations implementing a number of financial Islamic operations already operate on the territory of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan and in some other regions. These Islamic finance operations are popular among clients.

During the conversation, Madina Kalimullina told the guests from Saudi Arabia about the activity of the International Centre for Standardization and Certification Halal of Russia mufties Council, as well as the traditional exhibition Moscow Halal Expo that annually takes place in Moscow. She added that in the future along with certification of food, travel and medical services, the procedure will take place and the financial sector.

Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-Atram said he admired the work of the Russia mufties Council, both in the field of Islamic finance and in the sphere of education programs and enlightenment. He added that the RMC has chosen the right direction. The sides expressed willingness to fruitful cooperation within the development Islamic finance in Russia. He also recalled that the speech of Mr Jafar Azizbaev at the Halal Forum in Kazan in 2011 after which he passed away was the best and most profound speech on the halal industry he ever heard.

The parties agreed for continuing cooperation and preparing the MoU.
