Mufti's envoy takes part in international conference in Jakarta The envoy of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin in the Far Eastern Federal District, Jamal Garifullin, took part in the International Conference on Religion, Peace and Civilisation, which took place on May 22-23, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

He conveyed the greetings and best wishes from Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and delivered a speech on "Peaceful coexistence in the context of religious pluralism in Russia". He noted that Russian Muslims have been peacefully coexisting with the followers of other religions for more than 1000 years. The Mufti's envoy also said that the Muslim Ummah of Russia accounts for 25 million people engaged in practicing Islam and developing the Muslim infrastructure (construction of new mosques, opening Islamic educational centres, primary, secondary and higher education institutions etc).

Jamal Garifullin also mentioned the close cooperation between Russian Muslim authorities and the countries of the Islamic world, and emphasized the significant contribution of the leaders of the Russia Muftis Council in developing this cooperation.

The conference was organized by the Indonesian Ulema Council in cooperation with the World Muslim League.
