Cooperation with the Qatar University While on a working visit to Doha, Dr Damir Mukhetdinov, first deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, met with Dr Ibrahim Al-Ansari, dean of Qatar University's College of Sharia and Islamic Studies.

The parties discussed the activities of their research centres. Prof. Mukhetdinov spoke about current projects of the Moscow Islamic Institute and the Centre for Islamic Studies of St. Petersburg State University related to the study of the Islamic heritage of Russia and the formation of a modern school of Russian Islamic theology.

The meeting resulted in an agreement on cooperation between the Qatar University, the Moscow Islamic Institute and the Centre for Islamic Studies of St. Petersburg State University.

first deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia also met with the dean of the College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, to discuss the political and civilizational components of Islam.

Both scholars specialise in the study of Islam and modern society. Professor Mukhetdinov informed his colleague of the latest developments related to the Russian Muslim theological school at the Moscow Islamic Institute and the Centre for Islamic Studies at St. Petersburg State University. He also presented the book series of  the Medina Publishing House.

The parties agreed to maintain cooperation between the College of Islamic Studies of bin Khalifa University, the Moscow Islamic Institute and the Centre of Islamic Studies of St. Petersburg State University. During his working visit to Doha, Damir Mukhetdinov also reached an agreement on cooperation with the heads of the Qatar University College of Sharia and Islamic Studies and the Qatar National Library.
