Rushan Abbyasov participated in the roundtable discussion on Russian-Palestinian relations The round table dedicated to the Russian-Palestinian cultural relationships was held at the "Russia Today" International Press Centre. It was scheduled to coincide with the Earth Day, which is celebrated in Palestine on 30 March. The event was attended by Rushan Abbyasov (first deputy chairman of the Russian Muftis Council, deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia), Shawki Bou Nassar (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lebanese Republic to Russia, dean of the Arab diplomatic body in Moscow), Abdel Hafiz Nofal (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to Russia), Vasily Kuznetsov (head of the Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies of the RAS Institute of Oriental Studies),  Gennady Ivanov (first secretary of the Russian Writers Union), Sergey Zhitenev (head of the Academic department of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society), and Mohamad Diab, author of the book "Palestine in the Mirror of Russian Culture".

In his speech Rushan Abbyasov mentioned a high level of contacts and close relations of Russian Muslims with their fellow believer from Muslim countries. He noted that the Quds Day, a day of Jerusalem and solidarity with the Palestinian people, is held at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque every year on the last Friday of Ramadan. He also emphasized  that Jerusalem, the city of three Abrahamic religions, is very important for all Muslims because of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The first deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council noted that Palestinian delegations regularly visit the main mosque of Russia, and Russia maintains close relationships with Palestine in the religious, educational and cultural spheres. He also stressed the importance of the round table and similar events that prove that the Palestinian people strive to acquaint the world with their history, culture and traditions even under such difficult circumstances.

In conclusion, Rushan Abbyasov noted that Muslims in Russia prayed for peace in Palestinian land and for justice.
