Rushan Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, met with Dr. Hossein Ruzbeh, deputy head of the Organization for Culture and Islamic Relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Advisor at the Iranian Presidential Office. The meeting was also attended by Massoud Ahmadvand, head of the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of Iran in the Russian Federation, and Idris Idrissov, an employee of the Centre.

Rushan Abbyasov welcomed the guests on behalf of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin and spoke about the historical background of relations between Russian and Iranian Muslims. He also noted that Iranian delegations take part in almost every international event organized by the RMC.

The sides highly appreciated the meeting between Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, which contributed to the development of bilateral cooperation, especially in the religious sphere. The participants also noted that the countries were able to enhance and deepen cooperation in different fields, which is especially important in the current geopolitical environment.

Dr Hossein Ruzbeh praised the contribution of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin to the constructive dialogue within the global Muslim ummah and strengthening the ties between Muslims of Russia and their fellow believers from Iran and other countries.
