Russian-Bahraini relations discussed in the Moscow Cathedral mosque Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, chairman of the Russia Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, received Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Rashid Al Khalifa, chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Mr Ahmad Al-Saati, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation, at his residence in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. The meeting was attended by Rushan Abbyasov, deputy chairman of the RMC and RBMRF, and Ildar Galeyev, head of the International Department.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin welcomed the guests on behalf of Russian Muslims and conveyed greetings to the leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain and King Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa, thanking them for Bahrain's stance, friendly relations and support, as well as for maintaining good relations with the Russian leadership and with the Russian people.

While speaking to the chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin stressed that he was proud of their long-standing friendship that began in 2015, when Sheikh Abdurrahman Al Khalifa took part in the opening of the renovated Moscow Cathedral Mosque. The Mufti also noted that participation in joint projects and events, including the opening of the Moscow International Quran Recitation Competition held in 2017 under the auspices of His Majesty Hamad Al Khalifa, contributed to establishing good relationships between the countries.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin noted that the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs is working hard to promote true Islamic values, peace and good neighbourliness between Muslims and non-Muslims, thus drawing attention to the importance of theinterfaith dialogue. He added that the efforts of other Bahraini organizations and institutions, such as the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, were also worthy of note.

In his turn, Sheikh Abdurahman Al Khalifa emphasied the merits of the head of RMC and his achievements both in Russia and abroad. At the end of the meeting the parties exchanged gifts and expressed confidence in further development of cooperation for the benefit of both countries and the Muslim Ummah.
