The first International Conference for the "Halal" Food completed its work in Saudi Arabia.

This conference was held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. The conference and the exhibition are organized by the public agency of Food and Medicaments Administration of Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh brought together organizations issuing “Halal” certificates from all over the world. The festive opening ceremony took place in the hall of the King Faisal Hall, where was Saudi Prince Sattama bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, government representatives and business circles of the Kingdom and foreign guests.

The Delegation of Russia Muftis Council was presented by Aydar Gazizov and Samat Sadykov, members of the International Halal Standardization and Certification Centre.

Presentation of the Russian experience in the field of international Halal certification was held during the session "The experience of "Halal" production controlling countries”, which was under the chairmanship of Dr Taha bin Abdullah Taha Kumsani. Managing Director of the Center Gazizov Aydar told about history of Halal industry in Russia, the first stages of development of the "Halal" standard, the current system of certification in Russia, and also about main Russian producers of Halal and prospects of cooperation with OIC on Halal Trade in his presentation "Certification of "Halal" food in Russia" .

At the end of presentation to the organizers and the guests was shown the video about forthcoming exhibition «MOSCOW Halal Expo 2012».

The delegation of the Russian Muftis Council was awarded by a commemorative award for the successful presentation from the organizers of the conference.
