The Russian Muftis Council visited the new Mufti of Istanbul, Mr. Rahmi Yaran. This is the first visit to Istanbul's mufti after his appointment to this position. The guest was received by the Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil- Hazrat Gaynutdin. During the meeting, which took place in a warm friendly atmosphere, the two sides noted with satisfaction the achievements of the Muslim community in both countries, exchanged experiences and touched upon the possible cooperation in the sphere of spiritual enlightenment. 

Ravil hazrat told about the situation of Islamic education in Russia today and praised the education in Turkey. Mufti praised the organization of the state support of Islamic education from the government.

During his visit to Moscow, Mr. Rahmi Yaran visited the Department of social and charitable, spiritual and educational activities of the RMC, where he was received by Vice-Chairman RMC, Imam-Khatib of the Moscow Cathedral mosque Mustafa Hazrat Kyutyukchyu. Guests were offered a hot lunch and watch of video presentations of the various activities undertaken by the Department. Mufti Rahmi Yaran expressed great satisfaction with the work of the Department and noted particularly interested him moments. The meeting was also attended by Adviser to the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey on religious issues Fakhri Saglyk and other Turkish guests.
