The religious leader of Russian Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, addressed all people and asked them to pray for peace in Ukraine:



In the name of God, the Merciful, the Gracious!

Dear brothers and sisters!

The Almighty Creator says to all of us:

وَلَا تُفْسِدُواْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا

"O people! Do not commit wickedness and violence on earth, keep peace and order, do good things!"

Our heart is bleeding because of everything happening these minutes. As a mufti and someone who believes in God I deeply empathise with the people and pray for peace and tranquillity. Islam is a religion of peace, friendship and equality of all nations.

We must strive to do everything possible to avoid casualties. Russian Muslims have always advocated for saving human lives and for the prosperity of our peoples and states.

Dear brothers and sisters!

Please stay united and calm, pray for peace, ask the Almighty to save lives and restore brotherly ties between the peoples.

We ask the Almighty to prevent the worst scenario, which is a large-scale war! In this regard, I address all religious leaders, heads of mosques and religious communities, as well as the entire Muslim Ummah, to pray for peace during the Friday prayers.

Please pray for peace and use every opportunity to help refugees and all those in need during these difficult times.
