Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin meets Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Russia Muftis Council, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to the Russian Federation, Kazem Jalali, at his residence in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

The meeting was also attended by Rushan Abbyasov, deputy chairman of the RMC and the RBMRF, Ildar Galeyev, head of the International Department, and Dinar Gainetdinov, chief protocol officer of the Chairman of the RBMRF.

At the beginning of the meeting Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin noted that the leaders of Russia and Iran had established close and reliable ties. He also added that Russian Muslims gave great importance regular state meetings and brotherly relations with Iranian Muslims.

"I would like to take this opportunity to send sincere greetings on behalf of Russian Muslims to the religious leader of Iranian Muslims, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi," said the head of the RMC.

The religious leader of Russian Muslims also noted that the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia had close relations with the Iranian religious organizations.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran in Russia, Kazem Jalali, stated that the diplomatic mission aimed to maintain good relations and cooperation between Russia and Iran, in particular, in the field of religion.

The Ambassador also noted that Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin is respected by Iranina Muslims for his readiness for constructive dialogue and open-mindedness. He expressed confidence that interaction between Russia and Iranian Muslims would be maintained and developed based on the brotherhood principles.

At the end of the meeting the parties agreed to develop cooperation in the field of religion, culture and education.
