Rushan Abbyasov participated in the meeting between Governor of Moscow region and UAE Ambassador The Governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to the Russian Federation Muhammad Ahmed Al Jaber discussed the prospects of cooperation between the Moscow Region and the United Arab Emirates. Rushan Abbyasov, deputy chairman of the Religious Boardof Muslims of the Russian Federation, chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of Moscow Region also attended the meeting.

"We are glad to see you readiness to cooperate, discuss various projects and investments" - said Andrey Vorobyov. "It is important to have good relations, since many things can be established on this basis, such as economy, tourism, and various cultural and educational programmes. We are interested in all this, so welcome to the Moscow Region.

The trade turnover between the Moscow region and the UAE  reached $40 million in the first half of 2021. Major programmes are being implemented in the region, in particular the first nuclear medicine pilot project in Russia (in Podolsk and Balashikha); logistics complexes in Solnechnogorsk, Chekhov, Dmitrovsky and Naro-Fominsk. The UAE also invested in the construction of the Central Ring Road and development of retail networks.

The UAE Ambassador Muhammad Al Jaber noted that in December the countries will celebrate the 50-year mark since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Russia, and thanked the Governor for the invitation: "Being one of the most promising regions in Russia with great development potential, the Moscow region is extremely interesting for the Emirati investors. Both countries pay special attention to cooperation in the field of education".

Earlier in September 2021, representatives of the UAE Ministry of State Affairs visited one of the best educational complexes of the Moscow region, the Primakov school, and expressed their interest in establishing a similar school in Abu Dhabi at their expense. The programme and methodology of the humanities department is based on the principles of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The school is scheduled to open in Abu Dhabi on September 9, 2022.
