The joint venture "GulfTIC-IHSSC Halal" established by the International Halal Standardization and Certification Centre and the UAE-based GulfTIC Certification has been accredited by the GCC Accreditation Centre (GAC).

The accreditation was the result of the work conducted by both the International Standardization and Certification Centre and GulfTIC. The GAC auditors reviewed the documentation and checked the work of the certification body. The GulfTIC staff was also provided with the necessary training and education. GAC auditors audited the turkey slaughter and processing plant "Penzamolinvest", which forms a part of the "Damate" Group, and the plant for the production of meat and semi-finished products "Optimum" ("Ecol" TM). During the inspection the auditors checked compliance with halal requirements, ensured control of the entire production process, and performed professional and religious evaluation of the personnel involved in the production of halal products.

Following the audit, the GCC accreditation centre decided to accredit "GulfTIC-IHSSC Halal" for certification of animal and poultry slaughter, as well as the production of meat products.

Halal certificates issued by GAC-accredited institutions are recognized in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Yemen as well as other countries.
