Partnership between Russia and Bahrain discussed at the Moscow Cathedral mosque On July 30, 2021, the Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr Samir Nas and his accompanying delegation visited the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. The Ambassador of Bahrain in Moscow, Mr Ahmad As-Saati, attended the meeting. The guests were received by deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Russia Muftis Council Rushan Abbyasov and the head of the International Department of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation Ildar Galeyev.

Rushan Abbyasov welcomed the guests on behalf of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin and thanked for the participation of representatives of Bahrain in the activities organised by the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia and the Russia Muftis Council in Kazan in the margins of the 12th International Economic Forum "KazanSummit".

The main focus of the meeting was the long-standing partnership between the RBMRF and RMC with religious, governmental, charitable, educational and public organisations of Bahrain. Bahraini Quran reciter take part in the annual Moscow International Quran Reciting competition, where they demonstrate their outstanding skills. Apart from that, there are different charity events held to help those in need. Muslim scholars of both countries maintain an academic dialogue, taking part in international theological conferences and round tables.

The participants paid special attention to the International Exhibition of Russian Goods and Services "Made in Russia", organised in 2019 by the RMC and the RBMRF with the active support of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Russia and Bahrain. The distinguished guests noted that the exhibition was a good platform for further cooperation between Russia, Bahrain and the GCC countries. Bahrain's Ambassador in Moscow, Mr. Ahmad Al-Saati, noted that Bahrain is interested in the Russian products, including halal ones. He added that the Kingdom can become a hub that provides access to the GCC countries for Russian products.

At the end of the meeting the parties thanked each other and expressed confidence that the existing partnership between Russia and Bahrain will only grow stronger.
