Russian and Turkish muslims to strengthen cooperation Today Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin met with Omer Faruk Savuran, Advisor on Religious Affairs of the Turkish Embassy in Moscow.

The meeting was attended by Rushan Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the RBMRF, and Ildar Galeyev, head of the International Department.

The meeting was held at the initiative of the Turkish in order to discuss numerous topical issues.

The relationships between Russia and Turkey date back centuries. Our countries will celebrate the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations in two years. On March 16, 1921, the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic signed the Treaty of Brotherhood, which officially recognized Turkey's independence.

The participants discussed various topical questions, summarized the results of the previous challenging year and confirmed their readiness to enhance interaction in all spheres of cooperation of the Religious Board of the Russian Federation Muslims and the Directorate of religious affairs of the Turkish Republic.

The religious leader of Russian Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin conveyed his prayerful wishes to the chairman of the Directorate of religious affairs, Prof. Ali Erbas, for his recovery from the coronavirus infection.

During the meeting the parties defined specific activities to undertake in the field of education, publishing, social and humanitarian assistance.
