Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin meets Saudi ambassador to Russia On Tuesday, 2 March, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin met the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr Abdul Rahman ibn Suleiman al-Ahmad, at the residence of the religious leader of Russian Muslims at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

The meeting was also attended by Damir Mukhetdinov, first deputy chairman of the RBMRF, and Ildar Galeyev, head of the International Department.

At the beginning of the meeting Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin conveyed his greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

"Thanks to the direct dialogue between the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, the bilateral relations are steadily developing," said Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin.

"We are actively establishing contacts with relevant Saudi institutions and international Islamic organizations based in KSA, such as the World IslamMuslim World League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation," said Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin. He informed Mr. Ambassador that they were ready to implement the "road map" of cooperation between the RBMRF and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance of the KSA in the field of Islamic culture and spirituality. These agreements had been reached during the personal meeting with Minister Abdulatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh in November 2019.

One of the main topics in the agenda was related to he celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria. This initiative was supported by the country's President Vladimir Putin.

"We invite the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance to actively participate in the celebration of this occasion," he said.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Saudi Arabia to Moscow, Mr Abdel Rahman Al-Ahmad, said it was very important for him to visit the residence of the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia and meet with Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin in order to discuss some topical issues.

The parties discussed some cooperation aspects and the ways of strengthening their relations.

At the end of the meeting Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin wished Mr. Abdul Rahman ibn Suleiman Al-Ahmad success in performing his duties and gave him several books of the "Chitay" and "Medina"publishing houses as a gift.
