Rushan Abbyasov, deputy chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, took part in a meeting of the Working Group for the preparation of the Russian-Turkish Public Forum. The event was conducted online and was monitored by the head of Rossotrudnichestvo (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs), Evgeny Primakov.

Rushan Abbyasov delivered welcoming words on behalf of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin. He said that despite the pandemic, the RMC and RBMRF never stopped cooperating with their Turkish counterparts. For instance, they conducted numerous negotiations and meetings with Omar Faruk, Religious Affairs Advisor.

"We have implemented numerous significant joint projects over the years of our cooperation. This year we are planning to implement a large-scale charity project called "Ramadan pavilion", where we will have a day devoted to the Turkish culture. We also continue cooperation in the field of publishing. We will be delighted to present our unique photo project "Islamic traditions in Russia" in Turkey," noted Rushan Abbasov.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation in various spheres, including the interfaith dialogue.

The participants stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations on different international platforms and discussed the role of RTPF (Russian-Turkish Public Forum) in strengthening Russian-Turkish humanitarian ties and contacts.
