Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin and Iranian Ambassador agreed to strengthen cooperation A phone conversation took place between Kazem Jalali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Russia, and Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation.

During the conversation the parties discussed some issues related to their cooperation. In particular, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin accepted the proposal of the Iranian side to hold an international conference in the memory of Ayatollah Muhammad-Ali Taskhiri.

"On behalf of Russian Muslims and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, I express my condolences on the passing of the great Islamic scholar Ayatollah Taskhiri. This is a great loss for the Muslim world. The role of Ayatollah Taskhiri in developing Islamic infrastructure and education in Russia cannot be overestimated. I am happy that Ayatollah Taskhiri was one of the founders and participants of the International Muslim Forum," said Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin.

Mr Kazem Jalali said that the condolences sent by the religious leader of the Muslims of Russia Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin to the Iranian people had been published in the Iranian media.

The parties reached agreed to deepen the cooperation between the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia and the World Forum for Proximity of Madhabs, as well as to ensure mutual participation in joint events. At the end of the conversation the parties confirmed their intention to expand cooperation and maintain contacts between Islamic institutions of both countries.
