First deputy chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Rushan Abbyasov, took part in the international conference “With Peace Against Occupation”, organized by the office of the Supreme Judge of Palestine, Advisor to the President of Palestine on Religious and Islamic affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash.

The discussion was devoted to the efforts of the international community aimed at resolving the Middle East crisis, the issues related to Palestine, and the role of the Muslim Palestinian communities in opposing the Judaization of Islamic holy places.

The event was attended by the chairman of the Directorate for Religious Affairs of Turkey, Dr. Ali Erbash, the Supreme Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam, the chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Caucasus Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, as well as Ministers for Religious Affairs of Indonesia, Tunisia, Maldives and other countries.

In his speech, Rushan Abbyasov noted that the Muslims of Russia supported the efforts of the Russian leaders aimed at resolving the Middle East crisis. He also confirmed the need to follow the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the decisions of the Arab states that call for international settlement of the situation. He also noted that the rights and aspirations of the Palestinians were not reflected in ongoing international initiatives and projects.
