Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the Sultanate of Oman, Dmitry Dogadkin, during a visit to Muscat.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the relationships between Russia and Oman, the possibility of developing cooperation between Russian and Omani Muslims in the sphere of education, and participation of Omani religious figures in the events organized by the RMC.

Mr. Ambassador noted that diplomatic relations between Russia and Oman were steadily developing. According to Mr. Dogadkin, an active political and diplomatic dialogue was maintained. Both countries develop cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres and contribute to the enhancement of commercial and economic relations between Russia and Oman.

For his part, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin thanked the Ambassador and the Russian Embassy in Oman for their support and assistance in organizing the annual visits of the delegation of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman to participate in the Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition, noting that religious contacts with relevant Omani departments had great prospects.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin also familiarized the Ambassador with the RMC and RBMRF structure and informed him about the international and charitable projects of these two leadingreligious organizations conducted both in the Middle East and around the world.
