Russia and Saudi Arabia develop cooperation in the religious sphere Rushan Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the Russian Muftis Council, met the Advisor to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Faisallah Al-Harbi. The meeting was held at the residence of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Russian Muftis Council.

During the meeting, Rushan Abbyasov informed the Saudi diplomat about the activities of Russian religious boards, international projects of the RMC, as well as the current state of Russian-Saudi relations in the Islamic sphere.

“Strengthening cooperation between our countries, conducting mutual visits and expanding work scope in different areas contributes to the development of our cooperation in the religious field, especially over the past few years,” he said.

The parties discussed possible ways of enhancing cooperation between the countries.

It should be noted that a high Saudi delegation led by Dr. Sheikh Abdullah Abdusalam Al-Suleiman, a member of the Senior Scholars' Council, dean of the Law College of the Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, participated in the International Research and Practical Conference "Fakhretdin Readings", which was held in Moscow on September 24. A meeting between the Chairman of the RMC, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin and Dr. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Suleiman, was held on the sidelines of the conference.
