Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin meets Minister of Hajj and Awqaf of Afghanistan The Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met the Minister of Hajj and Awqaf of Afghanistan, Abdul Hakim Munib, on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. The meeting was held within the framework of the 6th International Research and Practical Conference "Fakhretdin Readings."

At the beginning of the meeting, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin greeted the Minister and thanked him for participating in the conference. He also mentioned that strong diplomatic, political and religious ties between Russia and Afghanistan had existed for many years.

“In the modern history of bilateral relations we can mention such milestones as signing a cooperation agreement between the Russian Muftis Council and the Afghan Ulema Council in 2011, as well as annual participation of representatives of Afghanistan in the Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition".

The religious leader of Russian Muslims also noted that after the conflict between the USSR and Afghanistan democratic reforms took place in Russia, which resulted in the restoration of historical ties between the two states. He invited the Minister to sign a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in order to strengthen relations and encourage cooperation in different fields.

The Minister Abdul Hakim Munib thanked Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin for inviting him to the conference. The Minister expressed his approval of the proposal of the Russian party to sign a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.

At the end of the meeting Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin wished the Minister and people of Afghanistan peace and blessings of the Almighty, safe elections and prosperity, and also invited the guests to visit the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
