Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin received a delegation from the Syrian Arab Republic at his residence in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin greeted the Minister of Tourism of Syria, Muhammad Rami Martini, Mr. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Syria, Riyad Haddad, and other delegates on behalf of the Russian Ummah and wished peace and prosperity to the people of Syria.

“Russian Muslims cannot stay indifferent to the measures taken by the leaders of our countries aimed at ensuring a peaceful future for our countries. Our presindents do everything they can in order to stop the hostilities and to establish peace in Syria, — said the religious leader of Russian Muslims. — Over the last few years the Russian Mufties Council and the Religious Board of Muslims have organized several humanitarian aid missions implemented with the help of the Russian Aerospace Forces. One of our priorities was helping children, orphans, and those who needed to be transported to their homeland, to Russia. We established special rehabilitation centers to help them adapt better and involved our imams who looked after these orphans all the time."

In spring 2019 Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin took part in the organization of the Yalta Economic Forum. This event was attended by numerous representatives of Arab countries, who came at the invitation of the Mufti. Several investment projects were adopted at the forum, including those related to the reconstruction of Syria.

The upcoming 2020 economic forums in Bashkortostan and Tatarstan will be devoted to solving these problems.

In order to familiarize people with the contemporary Syria, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin suggested organizing the exhibition "Islam in Syria" at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque complex, following the example of similar exhibitions organized by the RMC in other countries.

Mr. Minister Muhammad Rami Martini highly appreciated the efforts of Islamic organizations aimed at helping Syria and expressed confidence in long-term and productive cooperation.
