Russia and UAE develop cooperation in halal industry The delegation of the Russian Mufties Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation took part in a business meeting with representatives of the Sharjah (UAE) business community, headed by the Chairman of the Emirate's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais. The meeting was organized by Maxim Zagornov, business ambassador of "Delovaya Rossiya" in the UAE. More than 30 entrepreneurs from Russia and UAE attended the event.

In his welcoming speech, Aydar Gazizov, Director General of theInternational Center for  Halal  Standardization and Certification, noted that the Russian Mufties Council and its partners in the UAE enjoyed strong relationships and productive cooperation. He also mentioned a number of joint projects that had been implemented during the year of Sheikh Zayed, first President of the UAE.

“Our relations in the halal industry are steadily developing. The joint Russian-Emirate certification center —Gulftic-ICSC — was created on the basis of the Halal International Center of the Russian Mufties Council, which allows us to boost the export of Russian products to the UAE and other Gulf countries. It should also be noted that the International Center is the only institution in Eurasia that has been accredited by ESMA."

During the business meeting the entrepreneurs were offered a brief description of the activities of the International Center for Halal Standardization and Certification, especially those aimed at helping companies open new markets while undergoing certification for production compliance with Halal norms and standards.

Ildar Galeyev, head of the international department of the RMC, also took part in the meeting.
