MATRADE executives visited the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

The delegation was led by Deputy Director General of the Department of Export Development of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Muhammad Mustafa Abdul Aziz. The delegation also included the trade comissioner of the Embassy of Malaysia in Russia Said Zahiruddin bin Said Ali.

The delegation was received by Aydar Gazizov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Russian Mufties Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation on halal industry development, Director General of the International Center for Halal Standardization and Certification, and Ildar Galeyev, head of the international department of the Russian Mufties Council .

During the meeting, the parties shared their views on the current situation in the global halal industry, emphasizing the high level of cooperation between the MATRADE and the RMC.

Aydar Gazizov noted that Malaysian companies took part in the Moscow Halal Expo thanks to the support of MATRADE. It should be noted that the delegations of the Russian Muftis Council and the International Center for Halal certification also regularly take part in MIHAS - the largest international exhibition of halal products and healthy food in Kuala Lumpur.

“Thanks to coordination and active cooperation of the Russian Muftis Council with the Department of Islamic Advancement of Malaysia (JAKIM) and MATRADE, Russian and Belarusian companies certified by our International Center export their products to Malaysia and other countries of the region ”said Aydar Gazizov.

Mr. Mustafa Abdul Aziz expressed a high opinion of the economic activity of Russian Muslims in the halal industry. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop further cooperation.
