Indonesian delegation visits Moscow Cathedral Mosque A delegation from Indonesia led by a prominent Indonesian politician, deputy head of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, member of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League, Dr. Hidayat Nur Wahid, visited the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. The guests were received by the head of the international department of the Russian Mufties Council, Ildar Galeev, and the leading experts of the international department Artur Gubaydullin.

The guests were offered a tour of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, which allowed them to know more about the history of the mosque, to get acquainted with the exhibits of the museum, and to ask all kinds of relevant questions.

After the tour, Ildar Galeev conveyed greetings from the Chairman of the RMC, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, and informed the representatives of the Indonesian parliament about the history of Islam in Russia, as well as projects and programs implemented by Russian Muslims and relations of the Russian Mufties Council with their Indonesian partners.

"A unique exhibition devoted to Islamic traditions in Russia was held in the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, for several months.  The exhibition was supported by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Indonesia, ” noted Ildar Galeev.

At the end of the meeting, the delegates thanked the Russian side for the warm welcome and expressed hope for further development of relations between Russia and Indonesia.
