On Wednesday, July 31, 2019, Rushan Abbyasov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Mufties Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, met Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad International Center for Peaceful Coexistence. The meeting was also attended by other delegates and employees of the Embassy of Bahrain in Russia.

At the beginning of the meeting, Rushan Abbyasov welcomed the distinguished guests and conveyed greetings on behalf of the Chairman of the RMC, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, noting that relations between Muslims of Russia and Bahrain became stronger every year. He mentioned the visit of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin to Bahrain, where he met His Majesty the King of Bahrain Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa and signed the memorandum "On mutual understanding and cooperation" between the Russian Mufties Council and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Bahrain.

Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa informed the First Deputy Chairman of the RMC about the activities of the King Hamad International Center for Peaceful Coexistence, conferences and symposia held under the auspices of the Center, as well as the organization’s objectives aimed at establishing peace and peaceful coexistence.

Rushan Abbyasov shared the rich experience of Russian Muslims, who support the ideas of good-neighborliness. He also stressed that it was extremely important to establish intercultural and interreligious dialogue at different levels, which would allow to establish stability in the society.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further development of relations between the peoples of the two states.
