Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin received the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Muhammad bin Abdul Karim al-Issa, at his residence at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. The high delegation included the heads of departments and staff of the Muslim World League.

The first deputies of Mufti, Damir Gizatullin and Rushan  Abbyasov, the deputy mufti Ahmed Azimov, the chief of staff of the DUMRF Ildar Nurimanov, the head of the international department Ildar Galeyev, also took part in the meeting as representatives of the Russian Muftis Council.

At the beginning of the conversation, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin expressed his high opinion of the activities of the Muslim World League.

“The activities of the Muslim World League are extended not only to Muslim communities.  They also involve establishing the interfaith and interreligious dialogue. Within a short period of time you managed to establish productive and mutually beneficial relations with government representatives, academic institutions, and the religious community in Russia. The cooperation between Russia and this international Islamic organization gives us hope for the further strengthening of our country's ties with the Muslim world for the common good, ”said Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin congratulated the MWL General Secretary on receiving the degree of Honoris Causa at the  Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He emphasized that the MWL authority was currently used to spread the humanistic values of Islam, such as mutual respect, peace and coexistence of followers of different reliigons for the sake of the society’s prosperity.

During the meeting, which was  held in a friendly atmosphere, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin and the Secretary General of the Muslim World League Muhammad Al-Issa discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation, as well as the ways to strengthen and deepen relations.

“Today's meeting was quite practical. We managed to discuss a number of programs and projects for joint implementation in the nearest future. I am sure that the next meeting will be held on the sidelines of these events, ”said Muhammad Al-Issa.

The Secretary General of the Muslim World League emphasized that organization paid great attention to the interaction with Muslim religious boards chaired by Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin.

The parties agreed to focus on certain cultural and educational programs and activities aimed at strengthening inter-ethnic, inter-religious relations, as well as rejecting of any forms of violence and radicalization.
