On Thursday, April 25, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met Yavuz Selim Kiran, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.

This meeting with was held within the framework of the working visit of the delegation of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation to Ankara.

First of all, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey greeted Ravil Gaynutdin and conveyed the best wishes on behalf of President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin wished prosperity and progress to Turkey and its people on behalf of all Russian Muslims.

During the meeting, the parties expressed a high opinion of the activities of the Turkish diplomatic mission in Russia and the Russian diplomatic mission in Turkey, in particular, regarding cooperation in the religious and spiritual spheres.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin informed the Turkish representative about his plans to develop religious cooperation and conduct joint academic and cultural events, such as the 15th  International Islamic Forum in Berlin, which will take place this December with the participation of the Turkish Islamic community in Germany.

“The cooperation between Russia and Turkey will be supported by religious leaders of both countries. The development of spiritual ties and religious cooperation is one of the important aspects of Russian-Turkish bilateral relations. Friendship and cooperation of religious leaders makes a significant contribution to the friendship of our peoples and creates a foundation for developing contacts in many other areas, ”said Ravil Gaynutdin.

Mr. Selim Kiran confirmed that the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue to provide any assistance and highlighted the great role of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin in strengthening Russian-Turkish relations.
