The members of the organizing committee of the Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition took part in the third meeting of the Coordinating council of the organizers of the International Holy Quran Competition in Kuwait.

The Coordinating council consists of 20 countries involved in the organization of international awards and contests for the Holy Quran reciters. The event also includes discussions on the prospects of this field, general goals and objectives, as well as solutions to emerging problems.

The Coordinating Council is a unique platform for sharing experience and developing new dimensions of cooperation in the field of international contests for the Quran reciters. It should be noted that the Moscow International Qur’an Reciting Competition and the Quran Festival represent a benchmark for many foreign organizers of such events.

During the meetings of the Coordination Council, the members discussed the further role of the council and made corresponding amendments to the constituent document of the Coordination Council. They also discussed the current agenda, including 50 articles related  to the organization, content and quality of international awards and contests of the Holy Quran reciters.

Among the proposals discussed, a special attention was given to the project of an international competition for elderly Quran reciters, which would be held annually in one of the countries participating in the Coordinating Council.

The participation of the representatives of the organizing committee of the Moscow International Quran Reciting Contest and the Qur'an Festival participate in the work of the Coordination Council will make a contribution to organizing such events around the world. The Moscow International Quran reciting contest was represented at the meeting by Salem Zallam and Ismail Gindullin, specialists of the international department of the Russia Muftis Council.
