Damir Mukhetdinov informed the guest about the projects conducted under the auspices of the RMC and the RBMRF, in particular, he spoke about the XI International Muslim Forum "Religion, identity and integration in the context of value transformation", which took place in London in December 2015. He also described relationships between the state and religious institutions in Russia and highlighted the productive dialogue between the Russian Muslims and representatives of other traditional religions, in particular Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, etc.

In addition, the first deputy chairman of the RMC mentioned the issues of adaptation and integration of Muslim migrants into the Russian legal, cultural and linguistic space. “The Muslim community in Russia is growing rapidly, both due to increasing birth rates and the flow of immigrants.  By 2030 Muslims are expected to account for 20-25% of the Russian population, that is, every fourth citizen of our country will be a Muslim, which will result in a major ethnic and confessional shift in the Russian society. At this stage we must eradicate negative stereotypes that cause ethnic disputes and conduct educational activities in order to familiarize people with progressive Islamic thoughts, ” noted the religious leader.

At the end of the meeting, the Rector of the MII presented the books published by the Medina Publishing House, including his new work, " The History of Islam in Russia". "The history of Islam in Russia is connected with the very history of Russian nationhood ... I decided to write this book in order to summarize some known facts about the history of Islam in Russia, to help readers understand them and to present them in a concise way ...
