Today, Damir Mukhetdinov, First Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Principal of the Moscow Islamic Institute, had a meeting with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to the Russian Federation, Mehmet Samsar.

During the meeting, Damir Mukhetdinov congratulated Mr. Mehmet Samsara on his appointment to this diplomatic post, wished him success, familiarized with the activities of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and provided information about the events held by these organizations.

“For many decades the Russian Muslims have been maintaining sincere, fraternal relations with the religious leaders of Turkey and the Directorate of Religious Affairs of Turkey, including implementation of joint publishing, academic and educational projects,” said the representative of the Russia Muftis Council.

In addition, Damir Mukhetdinov invited Mr. Mehmet Samsar to visit the Moscow Cathedral Mosque and get to know more about the life of Russian Muslims.

The head of the Turkish diplomatic mission assured the first deputy chairman of the RMC that Turkey was ready to provide assistance to the Muslims of Russia, and also mentioned his intention to meet the religious leader Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin in the nearest future.
