The delegation of the RMC and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation led by First Deputy Chairman Rushan Abbyasov visited the renowned  Al-Azhar University during the visit to Cairo. Many Russian muftis, imams, religious leaders, teachers in Muslim educational institutions of Russia, graduated from this university.

During the meeting with the Deputy of Sheikh Al-Azhar, Dr. Salih Abbas, Rushan Abbyasov thanked him on behalf of Russian Muslims and Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin for his attention towards the Muslim Ummah of Russia.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation in this area. The distinguished professor also mentioned the recent meeting with the Head of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia-Islamic World”, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and his delegates.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their willingness to contribute to the development of high-quality Islamic education in Russia, including education provided by the Bolgar Islamic Academy in Tatarstan.
